Samantha Ruth Prabhu what is wrong with the Yashodha star’s health? Myositis condition worsening mere rumours

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is not sick and has not been admitted to a hospital. The Family Man and Oo Oo Antava actor’s health has become a matter of concern since she disclosed in October that she suffers from an autoimmune disorder called Myositis.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has a huge fan following and naturally, her fans have been very concerned ever since she disclosed that she is battling an autoimmune disorder called Myositis. Though she has shared her doctor’s opinion that she is likely to make a complete recovery soon, her worried fans were very disturbed as news came in that the Tollywood rage has been hospitalised at a medical facility in Hyderabad due to myositis complications.

Thankfully, those turned out to be mere rumours, and her representative also told sections of the media that she is happy, hale, and healthy. Samantha is also said to be resting at home. Samantha had shared earlier in a social media post that it was a few months ago that she had been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis and that she had been hoping to share this with her fans after it had gone into remission.

“…But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realising that we don’t always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something that I am still struggling with. The doctors are confident that I will make a complete recovery very soon. I have had good days and bad days…. physically and emotionally…. and even when it feels like I can’t handle one more day of this, somehow that moment passes. I guess it can only mean that I am one more day closer to recovery,” she had posted.

Refuting recent rumours of Samantha’s worsening condition and hospitalisation, her manager Mahendra told Indian Express, “Samantha is at her home. She is all happy, hale, and healthy. The news reports about her hospitalisation are just baseless rumours.” On October 29, Samantha revealed that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called myositis.

What is Myositis?

Myositis is the inflammation and degeneration of muscle tissue. According to the world-famous Cleveland Clinic, Myositis makes your immune system attack your muscles. Depending on which type of myositis you have, you’ll have a hard time moving or using your affected muscles. There’s no cure for myositis, but in most cases, treatment can put it into remission.

Myositis symptoms include:

  1. Muscle weakness.
  2. Joint or muscle pain.
  3. Fatigue.
  4. Swelling.
  5. Trouble breathing or swallowing.
  6. Arrhythmia (if the myositis affects your heart).

Unfortunately, this condition brings on a lot of muscle soreness, stiffness, and pain. The patient’s doctor or physical therapist will give him/her stretches and exercises to keep the affected muscles flexible and strong.

Typical treatments for myositis include:

  1. Corticosteroids.
  2. Immunosuppressants.
  3. Intravenous immunoglobulin.
