Before the UEFA Champions League Group H match at Paris’ Parc des Princes, here is all you need to know about PSG vs. Benfica.
In a rematch of last week’s game, PSG and Benfica will square off once more in an effort to take first place in Group H with a commanding point advantage.
Both teams have seven points right now, but PSG is in the lead since they have scored more goals. In the first encounter, Lionel Messi gave Paris the lead before a Danilo Pereira own goal saved a point for the team with its home base in Lisbon.
This time, Messi won’t be playing because of his ongoing calf ailment. The same issue prevented him from travelling to Reims over the weekend, where PSG had to settle for a scoreless draw. The Argentine missed his first game of the campaign, and Paris failed to score for the first time.
Benfica defeated Rio Ave 4-2 to maintain their supremacy in the Primeira Liga. With 25 points from nine games, it is in first place.
FACE TO FACE
Benfica and PSG played each other twice in the Champions League during the group stage of the 2013–14 season prior to last week’s 1–1 draw. Both PSG and Benfica have one victory.

The teams also faced off in the Round of 16 in the 2010–11 Europa League. Benfica won 3-2 overall to proceed to the next round.
