Oppo Reno 9 Series is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 778G chipset.
The Oppo Reno 9 series is anticipated to replace the Reno 8 smartphone range, which was introduced earlier this year. While the Chinese phone maker has not yet made any formal announcements about the rumoured phones, a tipster has disclosed the next Reno 9 series’ camera specifications. The Oppo Reno 9 Pro’s processor specifications have also leaked. A purported picture of the Oppo Reno 9 retail packaging has also allegedly appeared online.
The Oppo Reno 9 will be powered by Qualcomm’s SM7325 chipset, also known as the Snapdragon 778G SoC, according to a recent Weibo post by reputable tipster Digital Chat Station. According to the report, it will have a 64-megapixel primary camera. Its predecessor, the Oppo Reno 8, had a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC when it was introduced in India.
The Reno 9 Pro, meanwhile, will run on MediaTek’s MT6895 chipset, also known as the Dimensity 8000 SoC. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro, which is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max processor, was introduced by the firm in India earlier this year.
The Oppo Reno 9 Pro will reportedly have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 camera sensor, according to Digital Chat Station.
Images of what looks to be a white retail box for the Oppo Reno 9 have been posted by another tipper. The text “Reno” and the number 9 can be seen in the box’s top left and bottom right corners, respectively.
Digital Chat Station has not yet revealed if there will be a third Oppo Reno 9 series smartphone, to succeed the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+, which was launched in China, but did not make its debut in India
