Barcelona defeated Celta Vigo 1-0 on Sunday at Camp Nou, returning to the top of LaLiga thanks to Pedri’s first-half strike.
After eight games, Barcelona and Real Madrid are tied on 22 points, but Barca has a higher goal differential before the two teams square off in the El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu the following Sunday.
Pedri took advantage of a sloppy clearance by defender Unai Nunez as he attempted to clear a Gavi cross in the 17th minute to score with a close-range shot on a rebound.
Celta had a strong start to the season, but after losing three of their past four league games, they are currently in 11th place with 10 points, four points above the relegation zone.
