Two months after its theatrical release in August, the Netflix streaming juggernaut debuted Laal Singh Chaddha. Although the movie’s streaming availability had not previously been announced, Laal Singh Chaddha actor Aamir Khan had previously stated that the movie will only be made available on a streaming service six months after its theatrical debut.
The movie, a Forrest Gump adaptation, had a disastrous box office performance throughout its theatrical run, earning barely Rs 130 crore globally on an alleged Rs 180 crore budget. With less than Rs 70 crore, the movie flopped in India. Aamir made his big-screen comeback with Laal Singh Chaddha, four years after Thugs of Hindostan, another abject failure.
Along with Aamir and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film also stars Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in pivotal roles.
Laal Singh Chaddha also faced a lot of backlash, and was released amid massive boycott trends on social media.
